LANGMUIR
Allan - June 22, 1926 ~ December 30, 2008. Al passed away peacefully at
Lions
Gate
Hospital
with his family by his side. Predeceased by his wife, Sandra, and his sister,
Mary, Al is lovingly remembered by his three children, David (Barbara), Dana
(Rob Sherman, deceased), and Todd (April) and his seven grandchildren:
Christopher, Patrick, Shona, Holly, Julia, Matthew, and Corinne. Al was born in
Prince George
and was educated at twelve public schools in BC and
Alberta
following the death of his father in the early1930s.
After
serving in the Canadian Army in WWII, Al attended UBC as a veteran. He spent 5
years in
Fort
Camp
, graduating in 1951 as an electrical engineer. During his final years at UBC,
Al met Sandra Stewart, the love of his life. They married in 1951 and settled in
North Vancouver
to raise their family. Al continued in the Armed Forces as an officer in the
militia. Following a long and happy association with the 15th Field
Regiment, Al completed his active service as commanding officer of the 12th
Service Battalion and was subsequently appointed Honourary Colonel. Among
his voluntary activities, Al was very involved with Boy Scouts for many years.
The
family wishes to thank Dr. Barry Jenkins, Kwee, and the staff at Inglewood Manor
for their devoted care in his last 6 years. A memorial service to celebrate
Allan’s life will be held at First Memorial Boal

Vancouver
, on Thursday, January 8, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.
