RUSI VANCOUVER is committed to recognizing the service to our nation of British Columbia reservists who have served in Afghanistan.

Beginning with the return of 20 Seaforths in May 2010, each soldier was presented with a personalized Certificate of Appreciation like the one's shown here (scroll down).

Subsequent Certificate of Appreciation presentations were made to the Royal Westminster Regiment  and 15 Field Regiment of Artillery.

As the other local units provide us with the names, we will make sure that every veteran receives their Certificates

In the 1930's, George Orwell said, "We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would harm us. These words resonate clearly today as they did then. Our young men and women stand in harms way for us. It is important for Canadians to be able to say “thank you” in a modest but meaningful way.
