Vancouver Regional Construction Association

(VRCA) Event, New Westminster, Sept 28


The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) held a recognition evening for its members to acknowledge them for the work they have done in the construction of Honour House.

RUSI President, Jim Stanton and RUSI Director Cam Cathcart were in attendance. The ceremony was held at the Royal Westminster Regiment armoury, just two blocks away fro  Honour House. It was a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Sgt. Walsh on left, from the Royal Westminster Regiment, served with 2 PPCLI in Afghanistan. Today he received a Chief of Defence Staff Commendation for rescuing his Section Commander from a minefield after the NCO had been blown up by an IED. He is describing the size of the IED to his Commanding Officer LCol Doug Poitras.
